Christianity Jesus Christ Lord of Lords The "I AM WHO I AM!"This is a featured page

NOT FINISHED! I'm requesting help from some other Christians to help.

Started by Justin Breithaupt:

The first thing is that the Lord God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) can not be fully understood at any one time of a person's life but more and more is revealed about the mystery of the Christian religion as time progresses, however there are certain truths found in the Holy Bible (Genesis - Revelations) that tell us what the basics of Christianity are.

The Christian faith is based off of faith and not works. In the Old Testament of the Holy Bible man was under law of the 10 commandments and other restrictions. Some of these restrictions were put in place by man as an extension of the 10 commandments. People came to the conclusion that by works (things that they did) they could get into Heaven and achieve salvation. This was true under that covenant (agreement with God). In the new testament God sent his son (Jesus Christ) made man, born of the virgin Marry, and innocent of any sin or failure to comply with God's law to die for us and take on all of the sin, guilt, and punishment that anyone would ever suffer so that we could freely receive salvation. Under this new covenant it is impossible to get to Heaven by things that we do to get right with God. The only way to Heaven is to have faith in Jesus Christ and to repent of our sins.

This is very similar to the idea of Free Software or GNU/Linux. Freely we receive so freely we shall give. A lot of people reject the idea of salvation threw faith and God's grace just as they don't believe that GNU/Linux is just as good or better than commercial software that they have to pay money for. God promises us that if we live according to his will and his commandments that he will protect us and keep us just as if you use GNU/Linux you won't get viruses, intruders, spyware, trojans, or adaware that can attack GNU/Linux because right now there are no viruses that attack GNU/Linux.

You will still suffer in life and you will experience pain and loss but in the end God will protect you and keep you from all wrong. You will experience Joy and express the fruits of the spirit. You will probably also die. But when it's all said and done you will be in Heaven and experience the Glory of God forever and ever. It's not going to be boring because God makes all things new. There is no limit to God's creative abilities.

Does this mean we are free to not follow God's commandments in the Old Testament or that we can just say that we are forgiven and not follow the scripture? NO! What this does mean is that even though we will fail we are expected to try to follow God's will for us. Jesus says that if we Love him we will keep his commandments.
