Hi,
I was raised in Montana and spent most of my life there. My hometown, Culbertson, is in the north/east corner of Montana where highway 2 and 16 intersect. It is a small town with an approximate population of less than 1000 people.
I started working on computers in 1985 and have been working on them ever since. I've been an auto mechanic most of my life and it seems like computers became easy for me to understand as a tool. I took them apart and figured out how they worked and put them back together again. It was fun. It is still fun.
I am using GNU/Linux these days about 99.9% of the time. I think it is fun playing around with the GNU/Linux sofware. I got involved with Ultumix GNU/Linux about a year ago. I was interested in how it was remastered. As I checked it out closer, I discovered the makeremaster program in the PCLinuxOS Linux operating system. Ultumix was the first example I seen of remastering a Linux operating system. I guess it opened my eyes to some of the advantages of using GNU/Linux over Windows XP or other Microsoft OS's. Later on I discovered the Klikit-Linux and Linux Mint KDE Community Edition using another remastering program called remastersys. That was when Ultumix switched to remastering Linux Mint. I also started playing with remastering on my own. I also helped Ultumix keep on developing into a GNU/Linux distribution. Thanks to all the Linux distros that have made it possible for newbies to play with remastering their distros and all the Linux communities and forums on the Internet that share their knowledge and help. Thank you all. Thank you Ultumix too.
Today I live in Williston, North Dakota in a much larger small-town of less than 20,000 population. My wife and I have 3 children ages 23 to 28 that all live here too. My Internet speed is 4 times faster than the small town of Montana but still not fast enough for what I would like it to be. I like having fun with the computer and Internet and GNU/Linux adds to the fun quite a lot.
